Sleeper was the first 2-D animated film I ever did. I did it for a 2-D animation class in college. It was made in Macromedia Director and exported as sequential .BMP's into a Perception board. Later, I added the sound effects in an audio recording class. The animation took roughly 2 weeks to complete. The excellent music was done by Chip Webster. Chip also gave the voice of the adventurer. Rob Jolliff assisted me in the recording studio and was the voice of the god.
The production was plagued by problems the whole way. The sheer volume of sprites was enough to crash Director frequently. The Perception station was also so full of animation from other students that I had to do some of the shot transitions on the fly. Some people would let these things get in their way, but NOT ME!
I'm really pretty proud of this little movie. I worked my ass off on it, and to finish it I did 2 days of all-nighters. I'm pretty sure that I was the only student to come out of that class with a finished film.
